Across the globe, there are certain companies who are known for always pushing the boundaries of technology. One of these companies is Apple. Although the company hit a rough spot when Steve Jobs was temporarily forced out, since his return to Apple, the company has done some incredible things. First, they introduced the world to the iPod. While this was not the first MP3 player, it was by far the best and easiest to use. Next, they pushed forward into the iPhone. Although countless critics expected this device to fail, it has been a huge success. Not content to sit on this success, Apple went on to introduce the iPad. Once again, while many critics felt this device was going to fail, its sales have shown otherwise.

While there are a handful of truly revolutionary corporations like Apple, this is not the case with most corporations. Instead, the majority of corporations focus on mundane tasks that increase the company’s value for shareholders. As a result of their conservative attitude, these corporations do not jump on the latest technology trends. In fact, it’s common for these companies to be very slow in adopting new technology.

Because of this initial resistance to technology, when corporations do start adopting a type of technology, it shows it has become truly mainstream. This is the case with thin client computing. Because many corporations are now adopting this type of computing, it’s safe to say that instead of being a fad, thin client computing is here to stay.
